Ami Paris, Christmas 2025

For this seasonal collaboration with AMI Paris, we brought three intimate stop-motion vignettes to life inside a meticulously crafted dolls’ house. Each one is built around a single, recognisable domestic moment before pulling back to reveal the wider home. The characters within it, and AMI garments are woven seamlessly into the action.

The Project

Directed by Jack Brown at Partizan, the films begin small and personal. In the first spot, a child’s middle bedroom becomes a place of playful rebellion. The young girl of the family is doodling on bare plaster beneath peeling wallpaper. Then dad swings her playfully to camera onto a springy bed made from an AMI scarf. A motion motion-control pull-back reveals the scene and the characters freeze mid-action, returning them to their status as dolls.

The second film moves upstairs to a loft bedroom, where a stargazing boy tunnels headfirst into the sleeves of an oversized AMI sweater. The set was threaded with tiny practical lights and designed with removable sections to allow animator access. Multiple identical motion-control passes were captured, including separate lighting passes for each floor, before being composited into a single, fluid camera move.

The final spot brings the family together in the kitchen. Paper chains are cut from AMI gift-wrap, presents are exchanged, and a well-timed cup of tea arrives from dad. This set featured some of the smallest props we’ve ever made, alongside hand-grouted tiles and 3D-printed kitchen units, all animated across multiple passes and stitched into one seamless arc of motion.

Built and shot at Second Home, these films are a precise blend of narrative observation, miniature craft and technical control. Delivered at pace, without compromising detail.
