Origami Stop Motion Animation
We used the pages of the centre’s guide brochure as origami fodder to create an animated host to welcome newcomers. Enter ‘Woody’, who keeps into life to showcase different parts of the centre in among busy passers-by. Woody explains the different approaches and methods for successful and productive co-working whilst tightrope walking benches and leaping in and out of each scene. We achieved this by first filming live background plates and lighting references in the centre. We then recreated foreground set pieces in the studio to animate the Woody puppet in stop-motion. The two elements were composited together to place Woody in the scene. We worked with voice artist Mark Silk to give Woody a warm, welcoming personality.
